Sara has been active with SAR and Emergency Management at the regional and state levels. She was a driving force in the creation of the California/Oregon Regional Search and Rescue (CORSAR) team that serves Southern Oregon and Northern California; she has served as vice-chair for the past three years.
Sara also currently serves as the Secretary for the Oregon State Sheriff’s Association Search and Rescue Advisory Council and is a member of the Governor’s SAR Policy Commission.
Since 2006, Sara has been instrumental in working to improve leadership and management within SAR as well as increasing the frequency and quality of training opportunities offered to SAR members (both regionally and state-wide).
Sara has engendered team spirit within the Oregon SAR community as she continually strives for higher standards in all aspects of SAR operations and training.
