Grants Pass, OR — Yesterday, at 4:00 p.m., yet another non-compliant sex offender was taken into custody by the Sheriff’s Office.
Hall hadn’t registered since 2007 and had moved from the address he provided at that time. State law requires sex offenders in Oregon to register annually within ten days of their birthday and to register any change of address.
He was picked up based on an anonymous tip from a citizen who reported Hall was working at the Grants Pass Wal-Mart.
The tip came in after the Sheriff’s Office started to post the mugshots of non-compliant offenders online. Deputies attempted and were unable to locate these offenders at their registered addresses.
Hall is one of ten non-compliant sex offenders arrested or cited since the sweeps began in late December. In addition, there are 16 offenders whom we believe have moved out of state, five who registered shortly after the sweeps began, likely as a result, and 16 whom we are still unable to locate but have cause to believe are still residing in Josephine County.
If you recognize any of the offenders on our website, please contact the Sheriff’s Office at 541-474-5123 and hit “5” for the Records Division, or call our confidential tip line at 541-474-5160.
The Sheriff’s Office will continue the Sex Offender Sweeps program for as long as there are non-compliant offenders in our county.
