First time applicants must apply on or before April 1 and meet the qualifications of a 40% disabled U.S. veteran or be the surviving spouse of a qualifying veteran. (If you acquire property after March 1 but before July 1 you must file within 30 days of the acquisition.)

If you have moved from the property, you must inform our office and apply for your new residence.

If you have placed your property in a trust, please reapply to continue your exemption You will need to bring a copy of your trust to the Assessor's Office.

Surviving spouses must apply if the disabled veteran receiving the exemption dies. If you are a surviving spouse and you remarry, you must inform our office.
