Josephine County Commissioner
Herman Baertschiger is a longtime Southern Oregon resident. He and his wife raised their two sons on a ranch outside of Grants Pass. At age 19, he started his own business and has been a small business owner for more than 40 years.
With a background that includes forestry, wildland fire management, aviation, ranching and farming, Baertschiger brings practical knowledge and real experience. During his two terms as a state senator and senate Republican leader, Baertschiger addressed many of the most contentious issues Oregon faced.
Baertschiger's common-sense approach to policy making and direct communication style have allowed him to be effective in the state legislature. As a Josephine County commissioner, Baertschiger will use his knowledge, experience and the many relationships he has built to help Josephine County prosper.
