Disabled Veterans and Surviving Spouse Exemption

Poppy
Memorial Day Poppy

First time applicants must apply before April 1 and meet the qualifications of a 40% disabled U.S. veteran or be the surviving spouse of a qualifying veteran.

If you currently receive a veteran's exemption you do not need to reapply unless there have been changes to your property or ownership.

If you have moved from the property, you must inform our office and apply for your new residence.

If you have placed your property in a trust, please reapply. Your exemption will not be removed by doing so however.

Surviving spouses must apply if the disabled veteran receiving the exemption dies. If you are a surviving spouse and you remarry, you must inform our office.

The application is available below. Please call (541) 474-5260 with any questions
